Here’s How To Incorporate Sleep Coaching With Clients
I know Sleep Coaching sounds kind of weird. It’s not like we can go to our clients house to help rock them to sleep.
Well, maybe we can, but that sounds like a different type of business…
Anyways, sleep coaching is just like nutrition coaching.
It’s all about building habits!
It is your job to help you clients figure out strategies to build habits that will improve their sleep.
And here is how you do just that…
Getting Started
Overall, getting started is very similar to nutrition coaching.
When a client brings it up naturally that is your chance to offer help!
They will obviously be curious about how it works, it is not a very common practice yet.
So let them know your process and how much it costs.
Personally, I will say how we just need to do an initial call to see what is going on, like a movement assessment but for sleep, and then together figure out what you can do for improvement.
From there it’s trial, error, adjustment and accountability! Hopefully not too much error though 😜
As for the cost, I would relate it to whatever your training sessions cost.
If one training sessions costs $50/hour, then charge $50/week for the accountability messaging/ check-ins.
For the live calls, it is totally up to how generous you want to be.
You could stick with the $50/hour rate, you could definitely increase the rate, or you could charge it as a monthly package.
For example, 1 month of sleep coaching is $200-$400 (up to you) and that includes the accountability messaging and weekly/biweekly/as need live calls.
Being A Sleep Coach
Once you are actively sleep coaching it is literally the same as nutrition coaching. You’re just talking about sleep habits instead of nutrition habits!
Me: “Hey Lisa! How are we doing today? Remember we were planning on setting an alarm 2 hours before bed to start winding down the light exposure 🙂
Lisa: “Hi! Doing well, and yes! Thank you for the reminder, I just set the alarm 🙂
Me: “Perfect! Let me know in the morning how you slept. And also, why don’t put the phone away for the night after this conversation 😜
Lisa: No response because she listened to me and put her phone away!
And you can do this with every habit you and your client decide to try. Once it becomes easy for them to do it on their own, you move on to the next until they feel like they’re sleeping well and have it under control on their own.
So there you go. You are now ready to start sleep coaching!
Get to work!!
